How is British Airways improving its On Business corporate mileage scheme?

In 2026, British Airways made some big changes to its On Business corporate mileage scheme to enhance business travel and add extra value for corporate travellers.

British Airways has introduced a series of enhancements to its On Business corporate mileage scheme, placing a stronger emphasis on what delivers the greatest value to corporate travellers: On Business Points.

These changes are designed to simplify the programme and increase earning opportunities for businesses. In this guide, we’re going to take a look at these improvements in more detail, sharing how they can benefit your corporate travel solutions.

Ways British Airways has changed its mileage scheme

More opportunities to earn On Business Points

Before 2026, British Airways offered On Business Points on a range of fares, but with restrictions. Some contracted fares booked through travel agents were excluded from earning travellers points, but this year BA have significantly expanded the range of fares on which these points can now be gained.

This means that businesses can now earn On Business Points across a wider selection of fares, regardless of the booking channel they choose.

A clear focus on points-based rewards

Until now, UK-based On Business members could choose between receiving an upfront discount or earning points when booking flights.

As the vast majority of members opted to collect points with each flight, British Airways made the decision to streamline the programme, making points the sole earning option from 1st January 2026.

How do these changes benefit corporate travellers?

There are some key ways that organisations and their teams can benefit from these changes to the On Business mileage scheme, these include:

  • More consistent rewards for travel spending

  • More opportunities to accumulate points and unlock rewards

  • A simplified booking process

  • Less unnecessary decision-making

  • Alignment with how members already prefer to be rewarded

In summary: The reward scheme is now simpler and more valuable

In a nutshell, this simpler, more focused BA reward structure allows businesses to maximise the value of their corporate travel.

The changes make the On Business scheme clearer, more rewarding, and better aligned with what corporate travellers want and need, helping you and your team to get more from every journey.
