Meon boosts payment and technology partnerships with Advantage

Mastercard Transaction

Advantage Travel Partnership to which Meon is an influential member, has announced an enhanced payment and technology portfolio through a new deal with Mastercard and three tech platforms.

Advantage announced the deal, which offers improved payment services for Meon’s corporate customer base, at its conference in Malta earlier this month.

Meon Travel Commercial Director Stephen Inskip said existing corporate travel payment flows were “largely complex and ineffective”, with Mastercard’s research showing that 50% of business travellers were dissatisfied with their current payment and expense management systems.

The deal with Mastercard is designed to offer corporate travellers a broader suite of payment services, including virtual cards and billing products, plus procurement and pre-paid cards.

Andrea Caulfield-Smith, Advantage’s Managing Director of Global Business Travel, said the Mastercard partnership would equip members “with the tools needed in an increasingly complex financial landscape”.

Meon Travel also works with corporate payment specialists AirPlus and Wex as part of its programme to offer flexibility and allow customers to pay with different mechanisms.
